Target Tips: Tips to Save you Money

If you are Target obsessed like me, this post is for you! After shopping at Target literally my whole life, I’ve picked up some tips to help you SAVE money while shopping at your favorite store!!

TARGET RED CARD

Did you know Target has both a credit AND debit card option? You save 5% on EVERY shopping trip! I personally have the Target Debit Red Card (a credit card would be veryyyy dangerous for me!) For the debit card, the money is typically pulled from my bank account anywhere from one - three days later, depending on the date of my shopping trip. You also get FREE shipping when you shop online! There are also Red Card Exclusive Deals like $10 off a $100 in-store or online purchase!

TARGET CIRCLE APP

The Target Circle app is a hub for a BUNCH of ways to save money while you shop!

  1. The scanner! You can scan items in-store to price check AND see if there is a Target Circle deal going on. These deals are not always advertised, so I always scan everything in my cart before heading to self-checkout.

  2. The “discover” search bar: You can search for any item and it will show the location of that item within your store (if you’re shopping at a store that is not your “home” store, the app automatically updates!) For example, if you’re looking for what aisle you can find band-aids in, simply type band-aids into the search bar and the location will pop up! This is especially helpful when you are shopping for ingredients for a recipe!

  3. EXCLUSIVE OFFERS: I talked about this in the scanner, but there are exclusive deals going on in the target circle app! Always check to see if there is a deal for the items you are buying…you never know when there is an offer going on!

  4. Wallet! You guys…how many times have I forgotten my Target Debit Red Card in the car? Probably at least a thousand. Now you can scan your card from the app!! It also automatically applies your Target Circle offers and Red Card discount!

  5. Buying Online: Can’t find your size in store? Scan the item in your Target Circle app and you can order it online to ship to your home!

TEACHER DISCOUNTS

Target Teachers! Did you know Target offers teacher exclusive discounts during the year? It is not a year-round discount, but they do have offers for school supplies every now and then! You need to confirm you are an educator to receive the special discounts! To verify your educator status, go to Settings in your Target.com account. Select the “get verified” button for teacher, student, or military service member. You will then fill out the information to verify your educator status. They may ask for you to upload a document verifying your status. All teachers, staff, and faculty employed by K-12 schools and colleges/universities in the United States are eligible. Daycare center, Early Childhood Learning Center, and home school teachers also qualify!

turn on notifications

Have the Target Circle app? Turn on notifications to receive texts sharing deals and offers! Target may be having a “50% sweaters” deal and you wouldn’t know without receiving the notification!

Check those Endcaps!

The endcaps are where it’s at! Target puts most of their clearance items on endcaps. Be sure to check both ends of the aisle to see what clearance items you can score!

ONLINE ONLY DEALS

Some deals are online-only, so be sure to check Target’s website to see what they currently have on sale!

I hope you enjoyed these Target Tips to help save you money! Hopefully, they will help you during your next Target Run!
