January’s Canvas & Cocktails class at the LBIF
What is Canvas & Cocktails?
Canvas & Cocktails is a new popular social night activity, where you can join a group of people in creating a step-by-step painting while sipping on a few cocktails. It’s easy to see why this event has gained so much attention lately! Unlike the tupperware, jewelry or makeup parties, you pay a one time fee and leave the party with a one of a kind creation to remember a fun night with friends. Zero pressure. This night is all about having fun!
I started teaching Canvas & Cocktails in November of 2014. The thing I enjoy most about the class is that each painting is unique. Although each person gets the same materials and the same instructions, each painting represents the style of each individual.
Why should I join/host a Canvas & Cocktails class?
- Fun activity for a girl’s night, birthday party, or work event
- Convenience. No need to worry about set up or clean up, and if you host a party, the supplies are brought to you!
- Customize your party! You select an image or idea to paint, and I break down the image into smaller, step-by-step pieces. If you plan on hanging the painting, think about the decor of the room. What color are the walls? Is there a theme? What patterns or styles of art do you enjoy?
I host Canvas & Cocktails the third Friday of each month at the LBIF (Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts & Sciences). The event is BYOB. Contact the LBIF to reserve your easel! If you are interested in hosting your own Canvas & Cocktails night, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Get ready to express yourself through art!
